Ceramic Tooth Crowns

The natural tooth crown is the part of the tooth that lies above the gums. If this is severely damaged by tooth decay, illness or an accident, an artificial replacement is necessary. It is a fixed denture that comes very close to the original tooth situation. This makes it possible to  restore the natural function (chewing, speaking).

Dental crowns can be made of different materials such as metal, gold, titanium or steel. Today's all-ceramic dental crowns do not require any metal at all and are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. In addition, they are characterized by high stability, durability and aesthetics.

After a careful examination we choose the ideal tooth crown together with the patient, taking into account all criteria and his/her wishes.

Two steps are necessary for the treatment. First, the affected tooth is ground down. An imprint is made and the color is defined. A matching tooth crown is made in the laboratory. The second appointment is called «fitting» and if the crown fits, it is then attached. This completes the treatment.

With proper oral hygiene, an artificial tooth crown can last a lifetime.
